Football updates: Víkingur victory and scoring record pursuits

In Icelandic football, Víkingur secured a 2-1 victory against Breiðablik in a high-tension match. The game was marked by significant disciplinary issues, including four red cards. Breiðablik coach Ólafur Ingi expressed frustration over a red card issued to Anton Logi, while also condemning physical altercations on the pitch.

Separately, KR captain Aron Sigurðarson continues his pursuit of the top-division scoring record. After a 3-2 win against Keflavík, Sigurðarson remains in a drought following a previous goal that was ruled an own goal by the KSÍ, preventing him from equaling Benoný Breki Andrésson’s 21-goal record.

In the Faroe Islands, 07 Vestur suffered a 1-0 defeat to a bottom-tier opponent. Head coach Tór-Ingar Akselsen criticized his team's lack of alertness following a late winning goal by Aron Knudsen.
