Ford has announced the Fathom, a new compact electric pickup truck built on the company’s new Universal EV Platform. The vehicle is scheduled to be available for pre-order in early 2027.

Positioned as an affordable option, the Fathom is expected to have a starting price of under $30,000 (approximately $28,350 in the US market). Ford stated that the vehicle's design focuses on adaptability and user experience rather than purely technical specifications.

Despite its compact size, Ford claims the Fathom will offer an interior volume greater than that of a Toyota RAV4. Key features are expected to include a high-resolution touchscreen, digital key access, and a front storage compartment, or ‘frunk’.
