Ford Australia extends new-car warranty to seven years

Ford Australia has announced it will extend its standard new-vehicle warranty to seven years with unlimited kilometres, effective from September 1, 2026. The new policy applies to all new vehicles, including the Ranger, Everest, Mustang, Mustang Mach-E, and the Transit commercial range, covering both private and commercial use.

The extended seven-year warranty is conditional on customers having their vehicles serviced within the Ford dealer network. If owners choose to service vehicles elsewhere, the coverage defaults to the previous five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty. High-voltage batteries for electric vehicles, such as the Transit City electric van, will maintain an eight-year or 160,000km warranty.

Greg Davidson, director of Ford’s customer service division, stated the move is intended to deepen trust and loyalty, providing owners with confidence in both the vehicle and the brand. This extension brings Ford in line with competitors like Kia and Hyundai, though Ford’s policy specifically includes unlimited kilometres for commercial users without the caps seen in some rival offerings.
