Ford Australia recalls 1,218 Mustang Mach-E electric SUVs
Ford Australia has issued a recall for 1,218 Ford Mustang Mach-E electric SUVs produced in 2023. The recall addresses a manufacturing defect where the rear quarter-window seal may fail, potentially causing the glass to detach from the window frame while the vehicle is in motion. Ford warned that such an occurrence could increase the risk of accidents, leading to serious injury or death to occupants or bystanders.
Affected owners will be contacted in writing to arrange free inspections and repairs at authorized Ford dealers. This marks the fourth safety recall for the Mach-E model this year, following previous issues involving dashboard instrumentation, advanced driver-assistance systems, and a differential fault in rear-wheel drive models. Ford Australia has issued a total of 22 recalls this year, the highest among auto brands in the region, though the company stated that customer safety remains its priority.
