Ford Australia recalls F-150 pickups over fire risk
Ford Australia has issued a recall for 3,745 F-150 pickup trucks produced between 2023 and 2026 due to a potential fire risk. The company identified a manufacturing defect where the fuel tank strap may not be adequately secured to the frame rail. If the strap detaches while driving, it could cause a fuel leak that may ignite if an external source is present, potentially leading to injury, death, or property damage.
Affected owners are advised to contact an authorized Ford dealer for a free inspection and repair. This incident follows a series of other issues for the F-150 model in Australia since its 2023 launch, including previous recalls related to turbochargers, steering components, and exterior lighting, as well as multiple stop-sale orders.
