Ford develops four-door Mustang Mach 4 sport sedan
Ford is reportedly developing a four-door version of the Mustang, internally referred to as the Mustang Mach 4. A prototype was recently presented to dealers during a private event in Las Vegas, marking a significant potential shift for the brand, which has traditionally focused on two-door coupes and convertibles.
The new model is expected to compete with luxury sport sedans like the Porsche Panamera and American rivals such as the Dodge Charger. While some reports suggest it may feature hybrid technology, the vehicle is expected to utilize existing Mustang platforms and engines, including the 2.3-liter EcoBoost and the 5.0-liter Coyote V8.
Key specifications reported include a starting price of approximately $40,000 and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of under four seconds. The vehicle is projected to offer more rear passenger space than the Panamera. An official debut and production are anticipated between late 2027 and 2029.
