Ford developing Bronco-based pickup and luxury Lincoln SUV

Ford is reportedly developing new vehicles based on the Bronco platform to expand its off-road and luxury offerings. A Bronco-based pickup truck is in development and could arrive by 2030, potentially serving as a competitor to the Jeep Gladiator. This vehicle is expected to be manufactured at the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan.

Additionally, Lincoln is reportedly working on a rugged, body-on-frame luxury SUV derived from the Bronco architecture. Aiming for a 2029 launch, this model could target the luxury off-road market occupied by the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Land Rover Defender, with a projected starting price of approximately $70,000. The Lincoln model is expected to feature a unique exterior design and an upscale interior distinct from the standard Bronco.

Further updates to the Bronco lineup may include a hybrid version expected around the 2028 model year, aligning with Ford’s broader strategy to incorporate more electrified powertrains into its product portfolio.
