Ford developing new Mustang sedan and affordable SUV

Ford is reportedly developing two new vehicle models slated for release around 2029, according to reports from a recent dealer event.

One project involves a four-door Mustang sedan, potentially referred to as the Mach 4. Early prototypes suggest a vehicle similar in size to a Porsche Panamera, capable of reaching 60 mph in under four seconds. The sedan is expected to feature a hybrid powertrain, with some reports suggesting a hybrid V-8 engine, and a starting price of less than $40,000.

Additionally, Ford is working on an entry-level, boxy SUV designed to be the company’s most affordable model. This vehicle is expected to start at approximately $25,000 and will be available in both hybrid and non-hybrid configurations. Unlike some upcoming electric models, this SUV will not utilize Ford’s Universal EV platform. The new SUV is expected to sit below the Maverick in the current lineup.
