Ford Escape ends sales in the United States

The Ford Escape has officially ended its sales career in the United States. Following the final unit rolling off the production line on December 17 last year, the remaining inventory has now been cleared from dealerships.

Ford has not designated a direct successor for the Escape in the American market, leaving consumers to look toward the Bronco Sport, which offers a different character and more rugged off-road ambitions.

While the Escape is exiting the US, its European counterpart, the Ford Kuga, continues production in Valencia, Spain. Ford is reportedly considering a new generation of the Kuga that could potentially utilize a technical platform from Geely. This would allow for hybrid and electric powertrain options. Jim Baumvik, president of Ford's European division, noted that any future model would feature bodywork and character specifically developed for Ford, despite sharing a technical foundation to reduce development costs.
