Ford F-250 resale value drops significantly after aftermarket upgrades
A 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab Lariat, equipped with a Black Widow tuning package, recently sold at auction for $75,500, representing a $39,000 loss from its initial $114,701 price.
The vehicle originally retailed for $90,915 before the addition of the Alabama-based Black Widow modifications. Despite the high cost of the tuning package—which included custom badging, power-retractable running boards, LED puddle lights, and upgraded suspension with FOX 2.0 Performance Series shocks—the resale value did not reflect the investment.
After approximately 11,000 miles of use, the auction price suggests that buyers often overlook the value of aftermarket modifications, as the costs associated with such upgrades typically represent personal preference rather than recoverable market value.
