Ford Field workers hospitalized after Ed Sheeran concert accident

Six workers were hospitalized following a forklift accident at Ford Field in Detroit during the stage teardown after an Ed Sheeran concert on Saturday, August 29. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. near a vehicle tunnel as crews were dismantling equipment.

According to the Detroit Fire Department, the accident involved a forklift that reportedly lost control. Of the six injured, two were reported to be in serious condition while the other four were in stable condition. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening. One of the victims was identified as a Ford Field employee.

Ford Field officials stated they have launched a full review of the incident and are cooperating with local authorities and event production partners. The venue declined to speculate on the cause to protect the integrity of the investigation. Ed Sheeran’s tour is scheduled to continue as planned.
