Ford Ka leads ranking of most stolen vehicles in Brazil

The Ford Ka was the most targeted vehicle for theft and robbery in Brazil during the first half of 2026, according to a survey by Loovi Seguros. The model leads a list of the ten most targeted vehicles, which consists primarily of popular models including the Chevrolet Onix, Volkswagen Gol, Hyundai HB20, Renault Sandero, Fiat Argo, Renault Logan, Fiat Uno, Fiat Palio, and Volkswagen Voyage.

Criminals target these specific models due to the high volume of these vehicles in circulation, which drives demand for replacement parts. This makes them attractive for specialized groups involved in dismantling vehicles and the illegal sale of components. The Ford Ka is particularly vulnerable as it is a discontinued model in the Brazilian market, increasing the demand for parts through parallel trade.

While specific models remain high-risk, national data from the Brazilian Public Security Forum indicates an overall decline in vehicle crimes. In 2025, total occurrences fell by 10.7% compared to 2024. There has also been a shift in crime types: robbery involving violence or threat decreased by 20.6%, while theft—where the vehicle is taken without the owner's presence—now represents the majority of incidents.
