Ford launches electric Transit City commercial van
Ford Pro has expanded its commercial vehicle lineup with the launch of the Ford Transit City, an all-electric transporter designed specifically for urban use, delivery services, and tradespeople. To maintain cost-efficiency and reduce complexity, the vehicle is offered with a single powertrain and equipment configuration.
The Transit City features a 110 kW (150 PS) electric motor powered by a 56 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. It offers a driving range of up to 254 kilometers, which can increase to 381 kilometers in urban driving cycles. Fast charging allows the battery to reach 10% to 80% capacity in approximately 33 minutes.
Available in two sizes, the L1/H1 variant measures 4.985 meters in length, while the L2/H2 version is roughly 30 centimeters longer and taller. The vehicle provides a load length of over three meters, up to eight cubic meters of storage space, and a maximum payload of 1,275 kilograms. For the first time in the one-ton payload class, Ford Pro is also offering a single cab chassis to allow for customized industry-specific builds.
