Ford plans electric Fiesta return to boost European sales

Ford is planning a new phase for its European lineup to address declining sales, with a specific focus on expanding its electric vehicle presence. A key part of this strategy involves the potential return of the Fiesta model as an electric vehicle.

Reports indicate that the new electric Fiesta may utilize the RG EV Small architecture developed by Renault, the same platform used for the Renault 5 and the Alpine A290. Ford's European product lead, Christian Weingartner, has emphasized the importance of offering high-performance models to reconnect with enthusiasts. While the use of the 'ST' designation has not been officially confirmed, the company aims to develop a credible range of sporty, capable electric vehicles.
