Ford Racing completes first track tests for new Hypercar

Ford Racing and ORECA have successfully completed the first track tests for the new Ford Hypercar at the Paul Ricard Circuit in France. The prototype, which features a 5.4-liter V8 engine based on the Coyote, covered more than 1,000 kilometers during a three-day testing session following an initial low-speed shakedown.

The testing phase included participation from six drivers: Logan Sargeant, Matt Campbell, Tom Blomqvist, Mike Rockenfeller, Sebastian Priaulx, and Nick Yelloly. This milestone is part of a broader development program aimed at preparing the vehicle for its 2027 debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Hypercar category under LMDh technical regulations.

Upcoming testing is scheduled to take place across three continents. The team will move to simulator sessions in North Carolina, followed by track tests in Portimão, Silverstone, Monza, Imola, and Aragón. The program is slated to move to the United States later this year for sessions at the Circuit of the Americas and Sebring.
