Ford recalls 2025 Bronco Sport and Maverick models over valve defect

Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for certain 2025 Ford Bronco Sport and Ford Maverick (Black and Tremor versions) models due to a manufacturing defect in the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.

The faulty EGR valve may fail to function correctly, which can lead to weak acceleration, engine vibration, starting difficulties, and the illumination of the engine malfunction warning light. A significant risk identified is the sudden loss of motive power, particularly at low speeds of 20 km/h or less, which increases the danger of accidents.

Ford will replace the defective component free of charge at authorized dealerships. The repair is estimated to take approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes. Owners can verify if their vehicle is affected via the Ford app, by calling the Ford Customer Care Center, or by contacting a dealership.
