Ford recalls 2026 Ranger V6 models in Brazil due to exhaust defect

Ford do Brasil has announced a recall for 2026 model year Ford Ranger vehicles equipped with the 3.0 V6 engine. The recall is due to a defect in the engine's exhaust crossover pipe, where improperly tightened fastening nuts may cause gas leaks without prior warning to the driver.

This defect can lead to atmospheric emission levels exceeding regulated limits. In more critical cases, it may cause unusual engine noise, the smell of exhaust gases, or the activation of a warning light on the dashboard. The repair involves inspecting the component and, if necessary, retightening the nuts and replacing the exhaust crossover pipe gaskets free of charge. The service is expected to take approximately six hours.

The recall affects vehicles produced between December 9, 2025, and March 5, 2026, with specific chassis numbers. Repairs are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, once the solution becomes available through the authorized dealer network. Ford will issue a new call to consumers to schedule repairs once this phase is released.
