Ford recalls 223,000 F-150 vehicles in the US over fuel tank risks
Ford has initiated a safety recall in the United States for 223,472 F-150 vehicles manufactured between the 2023 and 2027 model years. The recall addresses a mechanical issue with the fuel tank mounting and retaining system rather than electronic or software malfunctions.
If the mounting components fail to function correctly, the fuel tank may shift or lose support over time. This instability could lead to fuel leaks or, in a severe scenario, the fuel tank detaching from the vehicle while in motion. Such a failure poses significant safety risks, including sudden engine shutdown, fire hazards from leaking fuel, and potential collisions caused by debris on the road.
