Ford recalls 41,748 Expedition SUVs and Super Duty trucks
Ford is recalling 41,748 vehicles due to a potential defect in headlight assemblies that could lead to a loss of visibility. The recall affects 2025–2027 Expedition SUVs and 2026 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty heavy-duty pickups.
The issue stems from a contaminated LED chip originating from a supplier’s manufacturing facility. This contamination may cause the failure of daytime running lights, parking lights, low beams, or high beams. Such failures could reduce driver visibility and make vehicles less noticeable to other motorists, increasing the risk of a crash.
Drivers of affected vehicles may see a dashboard indicator light if the low- or high-beam performance is reduced. Ford will notify owners by mail, with notification letters scheduled to be sent starting in November. Affected owners can bring their vehicles to a Ford or Lincoln dealer for a free inspection and, if necessary, replacement of the faulty headlight units.
