Ford Mustang GTD reopens European orders following Nürburgring record

Ford has reopened applications for the Mustang GTD, its most extreme road-going performance model, for the European market. The application window is set to close on October 16, 2026. Production for Europe is strictly limited to 500 units, and interested buyers must submit applications rather than guaranteed reservations, as Ford will select owners from the pool of applicants.

The Mustang GTD recently achieved a significant milestone at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, recording a lap time of 6:57.68, making it the first American production car to break the seven-minute barrier at the circuit. The vehicle features a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine producing over 800 horsepower and incorporates racing technology derived from the Mustang GT3 program.

Prices for the European market vary significantly due to local taxation and homologation costs. Estimated prices include approximately €359,900 in Germany and Romania, €364,900 in France, €370,000 in Italy, and €366,000 in Belgium. In markets with high luxury vehicle taxes, such as Austria, prices can reach upwards of €525,500. This new wave of orders includes the ‘Spirit of America’ livery, featuring a white body with red and blue racing stripes.
