Ford unveils 2027 Mustang Dark Horse SC Convertible

Ford has introduced the 2027 Mustang Dark Horse SC Convertible, marking the most powerful V8 Mustang convertible ever produced by the American manufacturer. Based on the Dark Horse SC Coupe, the new model features a soft-top roof and is designed with a focus on high-performance road driving and grand touring rather than pure track performance.

The vehicle is powered by a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine delivering 795 hp and 895 Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. To accommodate the convertible body style, Ford has implemented softer springs and anti-roll bars, alongside retuned MagneRide adaptive dampers to enhance ride comfort.

While it retains a magnesium strut brace for chassis rigidity, the convertible version lacks certain extreme track features found on the coupe, such as the Track Package, carbon fiber wheels, or ceramic brakes. In the United States, the order book is expected to open in the fall of 2026, with initial deliveries anticipated in the spring of 2027.
