Ford unveils 795-HP Mustang Dark Horse SC Convertible
Ford has unveiled the 2027 Mustang Dark Horse SC Convertible, marking the company’s first high-performance factory convertible since the Shelby GT500 production ended after the 2014 model year. Unveiled at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit, the vehicle is the most powerful open-air Mustang ever produced.
The car is powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine generating 795 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque. Power is transmitted through a Tremec seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a lightweight carbon-fiber driveshaft.
To maintain structural integrity without the roof, engineers utilized a magnesium tower-to-tower brace lifted from the Dark Horse SC coupe. The convertible also features a uniquely calibrated next-generation MagneRide adaptive suspension, designed to provide a comfortable ride during cruising while firming up during high-speed performance driving.
