Ford unveils Fathom, an affordable electric mid-size pickup

Ford has unveiled the Fathom, a new mid-size electric pickup truck designed to enter the affordable EV market with a starting price of approximately $29,945. Built on the company’s Universal Electric Vehicle platform, the Fathom is intended to serve as a tool for small businesses, light fleets, and daily commuters.

Scheduled to arrive in the United States market in 2027, the vehicle will feature LFP batteries, a 400V architecture, and NACS charging ports. The base configuration includes a permanent magnet rear motor, a high-resolution touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, digital keys, and bidirectional charging capabilities.

All Fathom models will be BlueCruise-ready, supporting Ford’s hands-free driver assistance system. The truck is positioned as a more compact and budget-friendly alternative to full-size models like the F-150 Lightning.
