Ford unveils Mustang Dark Horse SC with 795 HP supercharged V8

Ford has introduced the Mustang Dark Horse SC, a new high-performance variant within the Mustang lineup. Positioned as the second-highest tier below the Mustang GTD, the Dark Horse SC serves as a successor to the Shelby GT500 on the current S650 platform.

The SC designation stands for supercharged, highlighting the vehicle's 795 HP V8 engine. This release reflects a strategic shift by Ford to adopt a tiered hierarchy model similar to those used by Porsche and Chevrolet, where different levels of the same model offer increasing performance, rarity, and price points.

The broader Mustang range continues to include EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse models, featuring updated technology such as digital clusters, large center screens, and integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Performance-oriented features include selectable drive modes for steering and throttle, as well as track-specific tools like drift brakes and line locks.
