Forensic expert detained in Córdoba following search of forensic facilities

Authorities in Córdoba, Veracruz, conducted a search of the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO) and the Forensic Services Delegation facilities following investigations into potential irregularities. The operation was led by the Specialized Unit to Combat Kidnapping and Extortion (UECS) with support from the Mexican Army, National Guard, and State Public Security Secretariat.

During the search, officials seized various items including firearm magazines, tactical equipment, vests, and uniforms associated with a federal police corporation, as well as mobile phones and official documentation. These items were reportedly linked to an investigation previously referred to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO). Investigators noted that the evidence had allegedly not been properly packaged, fixed, or labeled at the crime scene.

A forensic expert, identified as Luis Rodolfo “N”, was detained during the operation. He is suspected of involvement in the concealment of evidence and may be linked to ongoing investigations regarding extortion and robbery. The detainee has been transferred for medical evaluation and legal processing, pending a judicial determination of his legal status.
