Forensic Psychologist Federico Rossi Colombo Detained in Loan Peña Disappearance Trial

A federal court in Corrientes ordered the capture of forensic psychologist Federico Rossi Colombo after he failed to attend the first hearing of the trial over the disappearance of five‑year‑old Loan Peña. Rossi Colombo, accused of obstructing the investigation, false testimony, usurpation of professional titles and other offenses, was declared in rebeldía and later connected to the proceedings via Zoom with a new lawyer.

The trial, which began on 13 June 2024 at the Gendarmería Nacional facility in Corrientes, involves 17 defendants and nearly 200 witnesses. Among the charges are illegal deprivation of liberty, qualified fraud, concealing evidence and violation of secrets. Rossi Colombo, originally from Tucumán, had presented himself as a member of the Fundación Dupuy and claimed forensic psychology credentials that are not recognized in Corrientes.

Loan Peña vanished on 13 June 2024 near the town of 9 de Julio, Corrientes, after leaving his grandmother’s house. The ongoing proceedings aim to determine the responsibility for his alleged kidnapping and the broader network of accused individuals.
