Forensic Report Discredits Video Evidence in Argentine Corruption Probe

A technical analysis by the Laboratorio de Análisis Técnico de Telecomunicaciones (DATIP), part of the Argentine Ministry of Public Prosecution, examined seven video files that had been presented as evidence in the investigation of alleged illicit enrichment and money‑laundering involving former Buenos Aires official Martín Insaurralde and television presenter Jésica Cirio.

The report found that the files show a creation and last‑access date of 24 June 2026, with no original timestamps or device metadata, indicating that the recordings had been copied, edited or transferred through messaging apps before being stored on a USB device. The analysis also highlighted inconsistencies in the chain of custody: the judicial record listed a seized pendrive, but the evidence was actually a 32 GB Kingston micro‑SD card. Because of these technical and procedural shortcomings, the experts concluded that the videos cannot be admitted as reliable proof in the ongoing case.

The disputed footage, which had circulated in June of the previous year, depicted Cirio in a dressing‑room surrounded by bundles of cash, a scene that prosecutors had linked to the alleged wrongdoing.
