Forest fire breaks out in Muriki, Kalavryta

A forest fire broke out in the Muriki area of the Kalavryta municipality in Achaia, Greece, on Monday afternoon. The region was already under a high fire risk category 4 at the time of the incident.

Firefighting efforts involved 21 firefighters, six fire vehicles, and a specialized hiking unit from the 6th EMODE. Aerial support was provided by a helicopter performing water drops to combat the flames. Additionally, the municipality of Kalavryta deployed water tankers to assist the Fire Service in containing the blaze.
