Forest fires reported in Granada and Almería provinces

Forest fires have been reported in the Spanish provinces of Granada and Almería. In Los Guájares, Granada, the INFOCA Plan mobilized ground crews, a water tanker, and a semi-heavy helicopter to combat flames in a complex terrain with continuous forest mass. Authorities are working to contain the perimeter before rising temperatures increase the risk.

In Velefique, Almería, a forest fire in an area of esparto grass and scrubland was declared controlled early Tuesday morning. The blaze, which began Monday afternoon, prompted a significant response involving approximately 80 personnel, including eight forest fire brigades and a regional reinforcement brigade. Aerial support included two semi-heavy Bell helicopters and one heavy Super Puma helicopter to manage the rapid spread caused by dry vegetation and steep slopes.
