Forest Green Rovers secured a 3-2 comeback victory against FC Halifax Town in their Enterprise National League season opener. Halifax took an early lead in the ninth minute through a goal by Will Flint.

Forest Green responded in the second half, with new signing Filozofe Mabete equalizing with a header shortly after the interval. Sean Etaluku then gave the Green Devils the lead with a curling strike from the edge of the box. Captain Kyle McAllister extended the lead to 3-1 in the 79th minute.

Zak Gilsenan scored a late free kick for Halifax Town to make the final score 3-2, but it was not enough to prevent the Forest Green win. Following the match, Forest Green manager Robbie Savage noted he felt like a “changed man” after the team's dominant second-half performance.
