Croatia celebrates winners of the 7th Best EU Projects awards
The 10th Days of Regional Development and EU Funds held in Šibenik hosted the 7th annual selection of the best EU projects in Croatia. The awards, organized by Hanza Medie, the Croatian Association of Counties, the Office of the European Parliament in Croatia, and Župan.hr, recognized excellence across four categories: contribution to education, science, and innovation; contribution to the local and regional community; contribution to cross-border cooperation; and contribution to entrepreneurship.
Key winners include the FOREST4EU project, which won first place in the education and innovation category and received the audience award. The PVMax project, which facilitated solar energy installations, took first place for its contribution to the local and regional community. In the entrepreneurship category, the Interregional Switch project from Krapinsko-zagorska County secured the top spot.
Other notable recognitions include the Senj city award for the “From Source to Sea” ecological project and the Punat municipality, which was ranked as the third best municipality in Croatia for economic results. The awards highlight the impact of cohesion policy and EU funding on regional development, infrastructure, and sustainable energy transitions across various Croatian counties.
