Forge FC and Cavalry FC compete for CPL Shield
Forge FC and Cavalry FC are in a tight race for the Canadian Premier League (CPL) Shield as the regular season approaches its conclusion. Both clubs sit at 57 points after 27 matches, but Cavalry FC holds a superior goal difference of +34 compared to Forge FC’s +27.
Forge FC is attempting to make history by winning a third consecutive Shield, a feat never before achieved in the league. Following recent victories against Pacific FC, Inter Toronto, and Atlético Ottawa, Forge FC enters the final round needing either a significant goal-scoring surge or a points drop from Cavalry FC to secure first place.
On the final day of the season, Cavalry FC will host Vancouver FC at ATCO Field, while Forge FC travels to face Pacific FC at Royal Athletic Park. A win for Cavalry FC would guarantee them the Shield, whereas Forge FC must win and hope for a Cavalry FC loss or draw to overcome the goal difference gap.
