Forkonas PP DOB urges expansion of new autonomous regions

The National Coordination Forum for the Acceleration of New Autonomous Region Formation (Forkonas PP DOB) held a national leadership meeting in Jakarta to advocate for the expansion of administrative regions across Indonesia.

Chairman Syaiful Huda urged the government to accelerate regional expansion, citing land use issues in Bogor Regency as evidence of the risks associated with large territories that lack sufficient government oversight. He noted that Bogor's high poverty rates and land permit controversies demonstrate the need for increased administrative intensity to ensure public welfare.

Participants also focused on two primary objectives: pushing the central government to lift the moratorium on the formation of new autonomous regions and monitoring the drafting and ratification of the Government Regulation on Regional Arrangement. Representatives from both eastern and western Indonesia expressed strong support for these initiatives.
