Forlì to host sixth edition of Cara Forlì liscio music festival

The sixth edition of “Cara Forlì,” a major festival celebrating the traditional Romagnolo liscio music, is scheduled for September 5 and 6, 2026, in Piazza Saffi, Forlì. The free event is organized by the Municipality of Forlì in collaboration with the Casadei family and the Emilia-Romagna Region.

The festival aims to support the candidacy of liscio music for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status. Musical performances will include the Nomadi, a special duet with Moreno il Biondo, and the Mirko Casadei Popular Orchestra celebrating its 25th anniversary. Other performers include Roberta Cappelletti, La Storia di Romagna, and various local dance schools.

On Sunday, September 6, the event will feature the presentation of a new book by journalist Mario Russomanno regarding dance locations from 1880 to 1970. Attendance requires mandatory reservation, which opened on August 6 via the Forlì IAT-HUB Tourism Office.
