Abuja courts sentence two men for fraud and land racketeering
An Abuja High Court has sentenced Kinsley Eselebor, an employee of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), to 25 years in prison. Eselebor was found guilty of obtaining money under false pretences and using forged documents to defraud a land buyer, Moses Osinachi, of two plots in the Kubwa District. The court ordered the sentences to run concurrently without the option of a fine.
In a separate case, the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama sentenced Nwachi Chidozie Kingsley to seven years in prison for defrauding an American lawyer, Nicole Kierulff Sayers, of $205,238. Kingsley used a purported contract with the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing to solicit funds from Sayers, whom he had met on Facebook. The court ordered Kingsley to refund the full amount to the victim.
