Former Brazil World Cup champion Kleberson hospitalized in Curitiba for heart artery blockage
Former Brazil midfielder Kleberson, 47, was admitted to the Hospital Cardiológico Costantini in Curitiba after experiencing strong chest pains. Medical imaging revealed approximately 50% obstruction in three coronary arteries, though an acute heart attack was ruled out.
Doctors indicated that immediate surgery is not required; Kleberson will remain under cardiology follow‑up, continue medication and adopt lifestyle changes. His wife Dayane Willians posted on social media that he is “well” and promised to care for his heart. The ex‑player also recorded a video reassuring fans that the condition is not serious.
Flamengo, one of his former clubs, issued a statement wishing him a swift recovery. Kleberson was discharged the same day and will undergo further examinations in the coming weeks.
