Former Brazilian footballer Magia Tasio dies in Rio de Janeiro wall collapse
Magia Tasio, a 41‑year‑old former forward, died in Rio de Janeiro when a wall collapsed amid severe weather. The incident, which also claimed five other lives, occurred on a road where Tasio was working. Tasio had played for Brazilian clubs Botafogo, Figueirense and CSKA Sofia, and spent part of the 2011‑12 season with Greek side Anagennisi Epanoemi, recording six appearances, two goals and one assist in the Superbet League 2. The Greek club announced its condolences to his family and former teammates.
The collapse was attributed to extreme weather conditions that hit the Rio area, prompting local authorities to investigate safety measures on the affected structures.
