Former justice minister Constant Mutamba announced in a handwritten letter dated 4 July 2026 that he will personally appear before the Congolese Court of Cassation on 13 July 2026. He describes the proceeding as a “third political trial” linked to the FRIVAO scandal and says he will leave his hospital bed, where he has been confined for months, to attend the hearing. Mutamba requested that the trial be broadcast live on national television to ensure transparency.

The Court of Cassation has issued a citation confirming the summons of Mutamba and other co‑accused, including the interim FRIVAO coordinator, for a public session at 9:30 a.m. on the specified date.
