Former Greek PM Antonis Samaras hints at new party during Crete talk
Former prime minister Antonis Samaras arrived in Heraklion, Crete, where he met regional governor Stavros Arnaoutakis before speaking at the think‑tank event “The Meaning – Crete.” In his remarks on the challenges and prospects for Greece, he declined to confirm any plans for a new political formation, saying only, “We’ll tell you in the afternoon.”
Samaras also referenced criticism of the current government and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and made a remark about “the ‘Muppet Show’ journalists,” indicating ongoing tension with media figures as he hinted at possible future political action.
