Former gymnast Pham Nhu Phuong quits The Face Vietnam 2026 amid private video leak

Pham Nhu Phuong, a former Vietnamese national rhythmic gymnast and 2018 Youth Olympic gold medalist, had been selected for the reality modelling competition The Face Vietnam 2026. After a private video of her and her boyfriend was circulated online, the incident attracted intense social‑media attention.

Citing the need for a personal break, Pham announced her withdrawal from the show, stating she will travel to the United States in August while continuing other work. She emphasized that the leaked footage was from years earlier and she believes her personal data was accessed without permission. Pham, who has over 1.3 million followers on TikTok, said the scandal forced her to reconsider her participation.

The Face Vietnam 2026 began its regional casting in June, featuring judges and hosts such as Đỗ Mạnh Cường, Anh Thư, Võ Hoàng Yến and H’Hen Niê. While Pham received praise for her athletic poise during the auditions, the controversy led the program to remove her name from the publicly posted list of 100 potential contestants.
