Former heads of state call for renewed international cooperation

Approximately 100 former heads of state and government from various continents and political traditions have issued a joint call for current world leaders to renew international cooperation. The group advocates for a framework grounded in human dignity, the rule of law, and mutual respect to address global issues such as conflict, climate change, pandemics, inequality, migration, and artificial intelligence.

The appeal emphasizes that modern challenges require multilateral responses rather than unilateral actions, seeking to balance national sovereignty with global interdependence. This initiative coincides with new global polling conducted by Focaldata, supported by The Rockefeller Foundation, which indicates that 57% of people across 34 countries believe their nation should cooperate with others to solve global problems, even if it requires compromising on certain national interests.
