Former Indian football captain Baichung Bhutia urges protestors not to use profanity against PM Modi
Former India football captain Baichung Bhutia said that while citizens have the right to protest, they must not use offensive language, especially against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He urged that the government should work to connect more youth with sports.
The remarks came after a protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar following Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. Police detained several participants who shouted profanities at the prime minister; many later apologized. Modi later posted an Instagram video forgiving the youths and calling for guidance toward the right path.
