Former Jackson State football player Levi Wyatt dies in car crash
Levi Wyatt Jr., a 23‑year‑old former defensive back for Jackson State University, died after being injured in an automobile accident. Wyatt, who played the 2025 season for the Tigers and helped the team win the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) East Division championship, had previously earned All‑Southland Conference honors at McNeese State and played at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
The Jackson State community and football supporters across Mississippi expressed grief, sharing prayers and condolences. The university released a statement honoring Wyatt’s contributions on and off the field and urging fans to support his family during this difficult time.
