Former Jalisco DIF director detained for alleged sexual assault
Lucio Miranda Robles, the former general director of the Jalisco System for Integral Family Development (DIF) and a current official in the government of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, has been detained and linked to a criminal process for alleged sexual assault.
The Jalisco State Prosecutor's Office reported that a judicial body found sufficient evidence to initiate criminal proceedings following a complaint from a female colleague. The alleged incident occurred in March 2024 during a professional training course in Tapalpa, where participants were staying in cabins. The victim alleges that the former official engaged in inappropriate touching before committing the sexual assault.
A judge has imposed mandatory preventive detention for six months while investigations continue.
