Former Joliet officer charged with Flock camera misuse

Jeremy Harrison, a 50-year-old former lieutenant with the Joliet Police Department, has been charged with official misconduct and computer tampering. An investigation by the Illinois State Police alleges that Harrison misused the Flock license plate reader database on July 23, 2025.

Harrison is scheduled to appear in court on November 17. This incident is part of a series of allegations involving the misuse of Flock camera technology within Will County. Other law enforcement officers in the region, including a sheriff’s deputy and officers in Channahon, have faced similar accusations or investigations regarding unauthorized searches of the real-time driver tracking system.
