Former Kansas City Chiefs player Allen Bailey dies at 37

Former NFL defensive end Allen Bailey has died at the age of 37. His wife, Lauren Bailey, shared her first public comments regarding his passing via an Instagram Story, describing the loss as a “punch to the gut” and expressing gratitude for the community support received.

Bailey was found dead inside his Florida home on October 20. His brother, Alford Bailey Jr., stated that the family believes the death was due to natural causes.

Bailey played eight seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs after being selected in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft following a collegiate career with the Miami Hurricanes. He also spent two seasons playing in Atlanta.
