Former LAUSD Superintendent Alberto Carvalho Lists Los Angeles Home for Sale
Alberto Carvalho, who resigned as superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District after FBI search warrants were executed at his offices and homes, has listed his San Pedro residence for $1.899 million. The 1928 Craftsman‑style house, described in the listing as a "private coastal sanctuary," features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a renovated interior, a fire‑pit backyard and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island. Carvalho’s real‑estate portfolio also includes several properties in Florida. He declined comment on the ongoing investigation, saying he is "talking to our attorney at this point." The district has appointed longtime administrator Andrés Chait as his successor. Neighbors recalled an incident early in Carvalho’s tenure when he climbed over a fence to trim a bush, describing him as assertive. The sale signals Carvalho’s departure from Southern California following his ouster from the district.
