Former Nigerian CCT Chairman Danladi Umar Granted ₦100 million Bail

The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja approved a bail package of ₦100 million for former Code of Conduct Tribunal chairman Danladi Umar. Justice Peter Kekemeke found that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had not demonstrated that Umar was a flight risk or would interfere with witnesses. Umar pleaded not guilty to four counts of alleged abuse of office and must provide a surety with a valid Certificate of Occupancy. He will remain at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the next hearing, scheduled for 29 October 2026.
