Former North Wales Police detective pleads guilty to sexual offences
Former North Wales Police Detective Constable Lee Harshey-Jones, 45, has pleaded guilty to multiple offences at Chester Crown Court. The charges stem from an incident in Old Colwyn on June 11, involving the recording of images under the clothing of two juvenile females without consent.
Harshey-Jones, who has since resigned from the force, also pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and the corrupt or improper exercise of police powers and privileges. Regarding the latter, it was noted he viewed an internal log of the incident and attempted to conceal evidence by factory-setting his mobile phone.
The defendant has been granted conditional bail and is scheduled to be sentenced on November 19. North Wales Police stated that criminal proceedings and misconduct protocols remain active.
