Former Olimpia player Kenny Martínez killed in Islas de la Bahía

Kenny Bredenskie Martínez Webster, a 22-year-old former football player for Club Olimpia Deportivo, was killed in the community of Punta Gorda, located in the José Santos Guardiola municipality of Islas de la Bahía, Honduras.

Preliminary reports indicate that Martínez was riding a motorcycle when he was intercepted by individuals on another two-wheeled vehicle. The attackers shot him, resulting in his immediate death. While the motive remains unknown, the National Police have opened an investigation to identify the perpetrators and clarify the circumstances of the attack.

Martínez had a notable career in Honduran football, having played for Olimpia during the tenure of coach Pedro Troglio and later for Lobos UPN. Most recently, he was playing for Atlético Bilbao in the Liga Mayor, seeking a return to the national league.
